Hey there!  I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer weather.  Melissa and I just got back from a much needed vacation to the beach, and were lucky enough to have 4 days of amazing sunshine to enjoy!  Today I'm going to show you my five favorite kitchens.  While I can't cook to save my life (think burnt easy mac...not so easy), I still love the idea of a beautifully organized and decorated kitchen.

The first thing I will say is I am completely head over heels, heart beat skipping, madly in love with white kitchens.  So all the spaces I listed here today are going to have white cabinetry.  I just cannot get over how clean and simple they are.  They just make my heart melt every time.  So if you're a fan of darker kitchens, I'm sorry, but you'll find nothing but light and bright here.  So without further ado, my five favorite kitchens!

Those stools. are. amazing.  They just completely make the space.  That amazing corally orange, popping out against that crisp white is just so stunning.  I would put those stools in my kitchen in a heart beat.  Come to think of it... I do have a pair of stools in my kitchen that are totally spray-paintable.  I may have just found my next project :)

You can't really tell from this picture, but this kitchen sports not just one, but two kitchen islands.  Yes, you heard me correctly.  TWO islands!  I'm going to consider myself lucky if my future house has room for just a single island.  I might die with two islands.  Think of all the amazing storage space!  And I'm sure the counter space would be heaven too for those who are not culinary dunces (like myself).  I also love the glass fronted cabinets with the painted interiors.  This is on the definite to-do list once I finally get out of an apartment.  Boo to not being able to paint rented cabinets.

While the fancy cabinet columns may not be exactly my style (I prefer a simpler square-cut cabinet like in the two previous pictures) I do love the overall effect of this room.  I'm loving the pretty blue of those walls.  Since picking rooms for this post, I've realized I'm really attracted to blue walls in kitchens.  So I may have to keep that in mind.  I also love those big iron lantern looking lights hanging over the island.

This kitchen may beat the 2nd picture for most amazing islands.  With one, gigantic island in the middle of the kitchen, then an additional bar-style island at the end, it definitely gives kitchen #2 a run for its money. The ceilings in this space are definitely the show-stopper though.  So in love.  I'm also digging the white cabinets with black counters.  This issue I go slightly back and forth on.  One day I'll love a pure light-on-light look, the next I'll be completely smitten with the 'drama' a dark counter brings.  Good thing I won't have to resolve this conflict for a year or two while I'm still living apartment-style.

This picture does this kitchen no justice.  I have been a long time YHL groupie, and they always knock it out of the park with their kitchen renos.  They managed to incorporate everything I love in a kitchen.  There's the abundance of beautiful white cabinets, blue walls, an island/bar area and two cool industrial-looking hanging lights.  They also have the coolest penny tiled backsplash accent wall.  Seriously, if you've never seen it, go check out their wall.  It's beautiful.  I am also over the moon for their open shelving.  They manage to fit in extra storage, while still styling it to make sure it always looks pretty.  This right here, is my kitchen holy grail.

So now that you know all about what I look for in a kitchen, lets talk about you.  Are you ga-ga for white kitchens like me?  Or do you prefer darker paint or wood cabinets?  I know I'm not the only one out there with island envy.  What are your must haves in a kitchen?  Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear!
