Ok so, this week we are talking about a couple of the many uses for washi tape. Since washi tape has come to America, its popularity has absolutely exploded! If you haven't heard of washi tape, its basically paper tape, and its uses are just endless. Washi tape comes in hundreds if not thousands of colors and patterns. With so many possibilities, there's a washi tape for everyone!
I have also recently noticed the trend of people loving the idea of washi tape, but having no idea what to do with it. So I thought it'd be fun to tell you guys my favorite ways to use washi tape in this weeks Fav Five. So fasten your seat belts, here comes some major washi eye candy!
1. Scheduling

One of the things I use my washi tape for most is in my planner. I use it to mark off events that are multiple days long. For example, if I'm going on vacation, or Melissa is going out of town, I'll mark those days with washi tape in my monthly view calendar. You can also use it on single days, to add some attention grabbing flair to a special date.
2. Temporary Wall Decor

While I haven't used washi tape for this yet, I have seen many other people do it. Since washi tape removes cleanly and completely, it is the perfect temporary wall decor choice for renters, or people who don't want to commit to a permanent accent or stenciled wall. I have been tempted to try this some place in my apartment, just haven't found the perfect wall for it yet.
3. Electronic personalization

This may have been the first use I ever discovered for washi tape, before I even knew what washi was! I saw someone's laptop keys covered in this pretty patterned paper, and I just fell in love. It instantly takes a boring and normal laptop, and personalizes it and brings a ton of fun to an otherwise plain keyboard.

I also love the idea of personalizing your phone with washi tape. With the fragility of smart phones nowadays, covers are almost a necessity. But for those who love a change of scenery, it can get pretty expensive buying a new cover every time you want a change. Washi tape provides a cheap alternative that you can change out and customize as much as you like!
4. Decorative flair

Washi tape can be used to pretty up almost anything. For cheap, cute and completely original decor, try picking up some vases and glasses from Goodwill and fancying them up with coordinating washi tape. But of course your not limited to vases, anything can be a candidate for some washi-fying, from candle holders to furniture! See how I decorated my portable office with washi tape here.
5. Labels

Again, one of my most frequent uses for washi tape. There are almost as many ideas for washi tape labels as there are for washi tape uses. Washi tape is just the perfect candidate for a good label. It's paper (so you can write on it), its colored and patterned (so you can color code and distinguish items at a glance) and its temporary (so you can remove and relabel should your needs change). Overall washi tape is my favorite go-to product for fast and adorable labels.
Those are my top five uses for washi tape, but I'm sure there are many more. How do you use washi tape? I'd love to hear all about it in the comments. And sticking with the washi theme (pun intended) later this week I'll be featuring one of these uses for washi tape and showing you exactly how I use it, so stay tuned!

I really liked this post! I've thought about using washi tape for a while but haven't quite jumped on the trend yet. Recovering my phone case? Perfect!
