Hello everybody! Today I have another completed Project Life spread to share with you all. This layout is going back to January 2011. Since it's about the same time of year now, it was so fun looking back and seeing what we were doing almost exactly two years ago. It's crazy to think about how much life has changed since then, but also comforting to look at the pictures and see how much hasn't.
Here's a close up of the left page...
...and the right page.
Since this month was pretty picture light, I decided to spread my title out onto two 4x6 cards. The first card displays the year. I used a card from the Midnight kit, and stenciled 2011 into the title box. I thought this card was perfect for January, since it's saying 'hello' to the new year!
On the card to the right, I used small gold alphabet stickers to add in the month. I wanted this whole layout to be simple and clean, with a touch of glam. I think this month card sums that up perfectly.
January happened to be the month Melissa and I celebrated our two months anniversary. I included pictures I had taken of a card I drew for Melissa. In between those pictures, I journaled a little bit about what I remember from that anniversary.
You can also see that I made a slight mistake, and wrote two year anniversary instead of two month! I decided to embrace the mistake and just corrected it with a maroon marker. I think it adds a little fun and reality into this little record of our history.
For the next card, I embellished a filler card with a little gold washi tape. It adds a little glitz without drawing too much attention away from the actual pictures.
This card may be my favorite in terms of sentimental value. Melissa gave me two beautiful roses for our anniversary. I included a quote of what Melissa said when she gave them to me, which has really stuck with me over the years.
Here are some more beautiful 'just because' flowers Melissa got me. I used a couple stamps to embellish a vertical 4x6 title card flipped on its side.
Finally I used another lovey stamp on a 3x4 filler card. I again had to embrace the imperfection as I apparently did not have enough ink when I stamped down. Oh well, that's life, live and learn!
Overall I just loved the simplicity of this layout. It really lets the pictures stand out and be the star. It really has been amazing going through all these old pictures that have just been collecting metaphorical dust on my computer all these years. I can't wait until I'm all caught up! Just two more years to go!
