Planners come in all shapes, sizes, colors, prices, and formats. This list includes a little bit of everything, so you will be able to find the planner of your dreams, no matter what your requirements may be! Let's dig in, shall we?
1. Filofax Personal Organizers
source |
When someone thinks planners, they automatically go to Filofax. It's hard not to. Over the years, Filofax has pretty much become synonymous with day planner, and for good reason. Filofax has a long history of producing beautiful and drool worthy planner covers, in many sizes and designs. I use a Filofax for my personal planner, and the quality is amazing.
Unfortunately, with the high quality comes a high price tag. So they are a big of an investment, but will certainly last many years if you take good care of your planner. The one true drawback to Filofaxes, in my opinion, are their inserts. While you can purchase inserts in many different designs, they are all very basic and plain, and not printed on the highest quality paper.
It is easy to work around this problem though, since most Filofaxes have binder rings. If you are planning on investing in a Filofax, I would recommend also finding a set of printable inserts to customize your planner with, so the inside is as pretty as the outside!

2. Erin Condren Life Planner
source |
Erin Condren is another pretty pricey planner option, but you will not be disappointed with the inserts in these beauties. Erin Condren has quickly become a close second to Filofax when it comes to planner prestige. With such fun and colorful pages, its no surprise people are willing to drop $50 on a Life Planner.
The one drawback to these planners, again in my opinion, are the fact that they are spiral bound. This means that what you get is what you get. There is no customization or adding inserts to your planner once it is purchased. There are a couple customization options to choose from when ordering your planner, but again, these are limited to what is offered by Erin Condren.
When I was teaching early childhood education, I used an Erin Condren teacher lesson planner to organize my lessons and everything work related. I loved the inserts, and how much space they offered to plan things out each day. While the lesson planner layout is a bit different from the regular life planner, I feel confident that I would love the life planner as much as my lesson planner.

3. Emily Ley Simplified Planner
source |
The Simplified Planner by Emily Ley is one that I have not had the privilege of personally testing out. However I have been a long time follower of hers over on Instagram, and just love seeing all he pictures of her beautiful planner, which comes in both daily and weekly styles.
Emily Ley's purpose for creating these planners was to simplify life, so there is more time to devote to the things that matter. Her passion for simplifying life, and spending it doing the things you love, with the people you love, is clearly seen in every page of these beautifully designed planners.
Again, I am not the biggest fan of pre-bound planners, but I think if I every get the itch to try one out, the Simplified Planner will be the first on my list to test out. I may or may not be thinking of one more thing I need a planner for, just so I can justify getting myself one of these!

4. Martha Stewart Calendars
source |
Anyone who has been a follower of mine here on Label Me Organized knows that I am a huge Martha Stewart fan. And obviously, her collection of planners is no exception. There are a variety of planner styles to choose from, ranging from fully bound planners to discbound ones.
All of her planner covers are extremely well made, and designed beautifully. I am just over the moon in love with the eggshell blue color her collection comes in, and the materials used to make the covers, and the stitched detailing around the edges. Basically, her planners are awesome. Overall the quality is amazing, and I know my planners will last me a very long time.
Martha Stewart planners are currently the majority of my planner collection, however, I do use my own custom made inserts. I currently use her discbound planner for my blog planner, and her binder planners for my Project Life and Etsy planners.

5. Kikki.K Planner
source |
Kikki.k is another planner I have not had the pleasure of testing out, but one that I have heard amazing reviews about from fellow planner addicts. The most popular Kikki.k designs are very similar to Filofaxes, in that they are binder style planners, and you are able to add custom inserts to them. However, Kikki.k also offers various other binding styles, if you prefer something other than binder rings.
The one thing that truly stands out about Kikki.k planners is their beautiful cover designs. They come in a variety of colors and designs that are just oh so cute. From plain pastel covers, to polka dots, to printed sayings and designs, you will not be disappointed with the adorable options Kikki.k offers.
Ok, so now that you have a couple of options for pre-made planners and planners covers, lets dive into some awesome inserts options. There are just so many planner inserts out there in the world, it can sometimes be overwhelming. But the good news about options is you are guaranteed to find some planner inserts that work perfectly for you and your planning style! Here are some of my favorite printable planner inserts that I think you will love too!
6. A Bowl Bull of Lemons Rainbow Planner
source |
The Rainbow Planner is a fun, colorful planner made by A Bowl Full of Lemons. The Rainbow Planner comes with a variety of printable organizer kits that you can choose from to put together your own personalized planner. The colorful and clean design of these planner pages makes my heart so happy. I especially love the way each day of the week is separated into categories (like to do, appointments, chores etc.) in the weekly view, so you can plan out each individual aspect of your day.
7. iHeart Organizing
source |
One of my favorite bloggers also happens to make one of my favorite printable planners. Jen from iHeart Organizing recently released her 2015 printable planner, and they are just stunning! Again, I am loving the fun colorful inserts, and the amount of space available to plan out your days. Jen also offers a wide variety of coordinating printables to add into your planner to fit your exact planning needs.
8. DIYfish
source |
DIYfish has a life mapping system for planner inserts that just fascinates me. These planners are truly like no others. In her words, "Life Mapping is a kind of color coding, time-managing, journal writing method that can help you record and organize your life without hustle." While I haven't yet gotten the chance to really dig in and figure out life mapping for myself, I am so intrigued by this system, and it's definitely on my list of things to try.
9. MissTiina
source |
Miss Tiina is a new find for me, and I am just so smitten with all the insert options she has available in her shop. All of her inserts are designed in the same rainbow theme, so you can build your own customized planner with coordinating elements and pages. Miss Tiina also offers undated "UNplan" planner inserts, so you can use the pages year after year.
10. Everyday Enchanting
source |
Everyday Enchanting is another new find for me, and I immediately fell in love with the soft yet colorful look of these planner inserts. One thing I really loved about these inserts, were the fact that you could purchase an editable document. This means you can type in certain elements on each page before printing, which I think is super awesome. Overall I just love the playful vibe these inserts give off. The 2015 planner is not yet released, but I for one can't wait to see how it turns out!
11. Labeled Organized Planner Inserts
Finally, I had to include an 11th option for planner inserts, Labeled Organized. These are my personal favorite planner pages, but I may be a little biased ;). I offer various planner insert kits, as well as individual pages, in my Etsy shop. This allows you to pick and choose exactly which pages you want to include in your planner, allowing full customization. I also have some exciting things in the works for 2015 that I can't wait to start sharing with you all!
So those are my topten eleven places to buy your next planner. Where are you favorite spots to go planner shopping? Do you prefer a completely pre-made, put together planner? Or do you like to have full customization capability that planner inserts provide? Let me know what you think in the comments!
So those are my top
I just ordered my first Erin Condren planner! I LOVE all of them you featured, I keep telling myself I don't need 4 different planners lol.
ReplyDeleteI used to tell myself that, now I find myself coming up with more reasons why I DO need 'just one more'! Enjoy your new life planner!!
