Welcome to Label Me Organized!

Welcome and thank you so much for checking out my little slice of the blogosphere.  I am super excited to get this blog up and running.  I hope to use this space to record and share the process of turning my plain one bedroom apartment into a beautiful and organized home.  I hope you'll enjoy reading along with me as I tackle the never ending process of getting (and keeping) my life organized.

There are many different things I want to be able to cover in this blog.  I plan to share with you everything from time management techniques to home decor, and how I make all those things work in my life.  My main focus, however, will be on organization.  Organizing has always been a passion of mine.  I even used to alphabetize my babysitter's books and videos when I was 2.  I just love the feeling of having everything neatly in its place.  Unfortunately, organization is an ongoing process and I am nowhere near total organization.  Over the years, I have developed many systems in my home and my life that I have found to work for me.  Then there are the things in my life without systems, that I'm even scared to try to organize.  I'm hoping having this blog, and having you all to hold me accountable, will help me get every last bit of my life organized and running smoothly.  I'll share all the tips and tricks I've picked up and use in my life, as well as every step of the way to organizing what still needs to be done!

And what good is organization if it doesn't look pretty?  When organizing my home, one of my main factors of consideration is how the finished product will look.  Perfectly sorted jewelry is almost pointless if it's still stored in your 10 year old scratched and dented jewelry box that makes you grimace every time you look at it.  Organization means almost nothing if it doesn't look nice and add to the overall look of your home.  So while I organize, I always keep the finished picture in my mind.  It's amazing what a little attention to decor can do for you organization.

My girlfriend and I recently moved into a new apartment, so I'm pretty much starting from scratch in the decor department.  I haven't felt the need to fully decorate previous apartments since for the past couple years I've only been in one place for a year or less.  However, we really love our new place, and plan on staying here for a while.  Having an apartment can be very difficult to decorate and make it feel like a home.  This is an area I don't have to much experience in, so I hope to pick up some tricks from you readers.  Of course I will share with you every step of the way as I turn my plain little apartment into a beautiful place we can call home.

Since I'm still in college, another point that will be touched on here at Label Me Organized is DIY and inexpensive home projects.  I love projects and usually have at least 10 of them going at a time.  I may even love projects a little too much.  I'll see something I want to do and jump head-first into it, forgetting about previous project commitments or any time/money/experience factors.  And if I don't jump head in, I mentally add it to the list of projects to be done.  Problem is, I can never actually remember this list later when I'm trying to come up with the next project to do.  I'm hoping having this blog will allow me to get focused and be able to knock some of these off my never ending project to-do list.  Most or all of these projects will be free or very inexpensive.  I like to work with what I have or make my own, DIY-style, of whatever I need.

Again I want to thank you for taking the time to check out my blog!  I hope you'll stick around and join me in making my apartment a home.  I will do my best to provide you with inspiration and tips and tricks along the way!  And please leave me a comment and let me know what you think and what you're looking forward to here at Label Me Organized.  Do you have any projects you have been avoiding?  Need a little inspiration for making a organizational system that is both pretty and functional?  Drop me a comment and I will do my best to help you get your organizational juices flowing!
