New Year, New Look

It's an exciting day here at Label Me Organized!  As some of you returning visitors may have noticed, I decided to freshen the look of the blog to ring in the new year.  The previous design was always meant to be temporary, and it had recently started really getting on my last nerve.  It was just so dark and heavy feeling.  I wanted a lighter and brighter feel for my little blog home.

I kept the basic layout the same, but there are lots of makeovers and brand new goodies.  I thought I'd give you readers a nice little tour around the new and improved Label Me Organized.  After that I'd love for you to check it out for yourself and let me know what you think!

One of the first things you'll notice is the addition of a customized header replacing the old generic blog title.  This was one of my hardest decisions, as I wanted the first thing you readers would see to reflect the overall style of the blog.  Here is how it used to look with just the basic title, and a description underneath:

Next stop is the navigation bar.  The old bar was so dense feeling, and a bit hard to read with that thick font.  There's also just too many colors going on at once right there.

I majorly simplified and lightened up the nav bar, to make moving between pages easier.

I just love that cheery pop of pink on your selected page.  It just makes me smile :).

The gallery pages (My Home and Organization) also got a nice, happy face lift.  Here they are before

I never really loved that dark teal color.  It was so distracting as a border.  To try and make the pictures themselves pop, I chose to border them in a bright yellow this time.

Finally, you'll notice a few brand new additions to the blog.  First up, I added a Contact Me page.  Here you can find my blog email address, and links to my Facebook and Twitter pages.  I love hearing from my readers, so if you ever have any questions, comments, or just want to say hi, please feel free to send me a message through any of those channels :).

And finally, the pièce de résistance.  Drumroll please...free printables!  When I posted my Home Management Binder Series, I got some inquiries on the printables I made for my binder. I know how hard it can be to come by free printables for your binder that meet your needs.  So I decided to make all my printables available to you readers for free!

When you click on the printables tab in the nav bar, you will be taken to that page, which has a button for each binder section.  Clicking on one of those buttons will bring you to the corresponding printables page, with links to download all the pages from that section of the binder.  I hope you enjoy all the organizational goodness jam packed in those pages.  I know I'm getting good use out of my binder!

So what do you guys think?  Do you love this lighter and airier design as much as I do?  These colors just make me grin ear to ear.  I'd love to hear what you readers think of my new look.  What about the printables?  Who doesn't love free printables!  Those two words definitely make my heart go pitter patter :)
