Project Life: February to March 2011

Hello everyone!  I have another completed Project Life spread to share with you all today. I am still working on catching up with previous years, so today's spread is from three years ago, in February and March of 2011.

It's a little unbelievable to know that some of these memories are that old, when they still feel like they just happened!

I love how this title card turned out. I actually made these pages before the New Year, so I was still very new to Project Life. I was still trying to figure it all out and find my style. This was the first card where I finally felt like I was finding 'my groove'.

The silver chipboard letters were an awesome find in the Target dollar spot. The enamel dots and year stickers were both found at Michael's. This card also began my love of enamel dots. They were my very first pack, and my collection and love for emamel dots has only grown!

It wouldn't be a February spread without a Valentine's card, so I included a picture of the flowers Melissa got me, as well as Dakota dressed up in her adorable Valentine's dress. Unfortunately, it is next to impossible to take a picture of a black dog at night without glowing demon eyes, so just imagine my dog doesn't look like an alien.

The gold alpha letters were another Target dollar spot find, and the cute little flower embellishment was bought at Michael's.

This next card was one of those cards that really just did not turn out how I imagined at all. I tried using these old alpha stickers I have had since probably elementary school. I thought it would all be cute and rainbowy, but it kind just came out...bleh.

Oh well, live and learn. That's what these catch up albums have become for me. I'm not too worried about perfection with these spreads, since I'm just trying to back track and catchup. I'm just trying to get the pictures and memories into the album, so I'm using this album to experiment through trial and error while learning my style.

This next picture is one of my favorites. Melissa is always putting random things on our dog, and that time, it was her sock on Dakota's head. Dakota is usually enough of a sport to wait until we have a picture and then wiggles free. Capturing and remembering these everyday fun moments are why I love Project Life.

On the right hand side of the spread, I have my March layout. Since I didn't have enough pictures from each month to make two full spreads, I just combined them into one layout. This has also made it quicker and easier to back track and catchup on old pictures and memories.

For the month letters, I used the same silver chipboard alphas from Target's dollar spot. I stamped the year with number cling stamps from Michael's. I love how I was able to fit on number in between each set of hearts. I think it kind of draws your attention a title more to the simple heart background of the card.

For the embellishments, I trimmed down some sticky page flags in various designs. All these flags came in a pack together, so they were already coordinated without being too matchy.

The next card shows a funny pictures of Dakota when she began her 'time of the month'. She just looked to hilarious in her diaper to not include a picture of it. Good thing she'll never grow up to be embarrassed by what her mom is sharing on the internet!

For the journaling, I used bracket cling stamps, and wrote in my thought using one of my Staedtlers.

Next I included a picture of Melissa and one of our good friends during a trip to Target. These two put on some masks from the dollar spot, and after some begging, allowed me to take a picture of them.

For the card I just a couple of cling stamps from Michael's and just wrote a simple description of the picture.

I also added a 3D 'lol' to the card to the right of the picture.

March is always a fun month for me, since it happens t be my birthday month. This March was particularly exciting because it was my 21st birthday!

Unfortunately, I somehow did not snap a single picture of any of our celebratory events, so I just had to rely on my memory and a bunch of embellishments.

I believe all the embellishments used on this card were from Jolee's Boutique, found at Michael's. I added some fun decorative paper, and used a stencil to trace on the big 2-1.

Well that finishes up my Project Life layout spread for February and March 2011. Now I'm only 3 years behind on Project Life haha!

I hope you enjoyed taking a tour of my layout and picked up some inspiration for your own layouts.  Is anyone else out there frantically trying to scrap the past to catchup to the future?  Who else combines weeks or months into one spread if you don't have enough pictures for individual layouts?  What about forgetting to photograph a big event, how do you handle that?  Let me know in the comments!
